Our facility is set up with a focus on group play, so your dog must be friendly with people and other dogs, socialized and up-to-date on all vaccinations. We cannot take aggressive or non-socialized dogs.

All dogs over 1 year must be spayed or neutered.

Photocopies of vet records including expiration dates must be provided when making a reservation. Dogs without proper documents will be refused boarding. All vaccinations should be administered at least 10 days before boarding.

You can create an online account and upload them here, email them to or fax to 412-620-6054.

Rabies: It is a Pennsylvania law that dogs over three months of age have a rabies vaccination.

DHLPP/DHPP: Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus vaccinations must be current and kept up-to-date. The leptospirosis vaccine is optional and at the discretion of your veterinarian.

Bordetella: Please note many veterinarians only administer this vaccine by request. We require Bordetella vaccines be updated annually, but some veterinarians recommend vaccinating every 6 months if your dog is in regular social contact with other dogs. Similar to a flu shot, this vaccine covers only a few strains of canine cough and is not a guarantee of immunity.

State License: It is a Pennsylvania law that all dogs age three months and older have an annual license.

Contagious Illness: At the time of boarding, dogs must be free of any illness or disease that could be potentially harmful to other dogs. Dogs must not have been treated for any communicable disease in the past 14 days and/or have completed the prescribed antibiotic or treatment.

Flea and Tick Programs: Canine Cabins recommends all dogs be on a preventive flea and tick program. If your dog is found to be flea or tick infested, a treatment will be applied. You will be charged $25 plus the price of the flea product.
